“I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers  network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company. ”

Do you ever forget to take a pill?  Most people have done this more than once.  Maybe, you think you took that important dose but, aren’t quite sure.  Should you take another?  Hmmm…  What to do?
I’ve tried the little plastic boxes, which work well.  But, what if you still forget to take them?  Isn’t there an easier way?  There is a way that seems pretty fool-proof.  It’s called Pill Drill.

When I learned about Pill Drill, I knew that I wanted to review this.  Not only do I sometimes forget my pills, but I also forget to take them.  The idea that Pill Drill would remind me to take my pills, sounded like the perfect solution for me.
Then, I thought about my parents.  They have a basket of pills to take.  Each one of them have had worsening trouble remembering to take their pills.  Some of these pills are extremely important to keeping them healthy.  The Pill Drill could be the perfect answer for them, too.

So, what is the Pill Drill?  It’s a system that you can easily use to take your pills.  The system uses an App on your smart-phone and/or your computer/laptop/iPad or other device.  The alarm reminds you to take pills at home, and your smart-phone sends reminders when you’re out.
When the Pill Drill comes to you, it is enclosed in a lovely box with all the parts clearly marked.  There is bold, large print included in everything I received.  There’s also a handy “How to start” booklet.  Everything you need is on the 2 main pages in this booklet.
First, you plug in the Hub.  It looks a lot like an alarm clock, and will start with a blue-flashing light.  The directions tell you which App to get on your phone, or you can log into the website at Pill Drill.  I found the computer screen easier for me, because of my finger problems.

It’s easy to then follow the directions.  The Wi-fi connection comes next.  I did this step wrong, so I contacted the email support.  They got back to me very quickly with simple instructions.  Then, the Hub connected quickly and I was able to set the entire system up in just a few minutes.
The medicine bottles are given a tag or sticker that relays information to the Hub.  After you have entered your medicines to the App, then the Hub knows when to remind you to take your pills.  It is so amazing that you get an alarm telling you to take your medicine.  I also received a message on my phone.

After I take my pill, I scan the medicine bottle tag, and this lets the Hub know that I’ve successfully taken my scheduled pill.  This can be done with any number of pills, any time of the day or night. The Mood Cube can be scanned to record how you’re feeling at any specific time.  Isn’t that great?
I believe that if you want to make sure older adults remember their pills, a tech-savvy child or grandchild could easily set this system up.  This makes it so much better, knowing that they have a reminder system in place.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored review.  I was provided a Pill Drill to review, but wasn’t compensated financially to review.  The opinions in the review are 100% my own.

  1. My first through was that my 87 yr old mother needed this BUT the more I read it was no way. She could never do the reminder or any of that stuff. This is a great ideal for me that are at least a little tech savvy

    1. You know, I was thinking the same thing about my parents. If they aren't using technology, they would be lost with this.

  2. Wow!! This is super neat!! I have this issue all the time. Im so forgetful lol!
